Default another stolen civic (sf bay area) update- car found

okay guys to my suprise the car has been found.... in one piece. the only thing the thieves got away with was a bike that was in the car.

turns out these guys rolled (pushed with another vehicle)the car to a destination a few blocks from my house.
they tried to get the car started so they could drive it away, they failed at doing it and ended up abandoning the car there for a few days.

coincedentally, my brother bumped into an old friend- they started talking and it what do you know? turns out the thieves left the car in front of his house.

I guess that my brother is one of the lucky ones this time... i do want to warn all you eg owners that i do believe these guys have one of those "master keys". no damage done to the car except the rear bumper being all scratched up. no sign up a break in whatsoever, everything is still intact. the autolock was still in its original position. the tumbler in the driver door is notchy now, leading me to believe the either picked the door, or they do have a key. the biggest shocker is that the steering column is still in one piece and intact- so the only way they could steal the car is if they had possesion of a key. the only other reason the steering column could still be in original shape is that they could not get the autolock off rendering the car unstartable (unless there are other ways to start it that i am unaware of). leading them to call it quits.

the alarm brain was on the seat unplugged. anybody have any ideas why they would pull out the brain if they coulnt take off the autolock anyway to crank the engine?

right now im trying to make sense of everyting piece together what went down so i could learn how to avoid something like this in the future.

once again thank you for your concern.

why do people always insist its a BS thread just because there is no picture.
good luck with finding your car man.

ok for people that are checking this out... i want to thank you for your concern...

i do want to also let everybody with a eg in the bay... that these cars are getting stolen and broken into left and right... daytime, nightime, whenever... have some buddies i txted and they unfortunately got their cars broken into or stolen as well-with in this week. no alarms going off and no broken window fragments...either these theives are good at using slim jims or the have a master key for the eg's .have made a little bit of progress as to who is behind this.. i know for certain that these people know myself and friends. im gonna dig a little bit deeper and do some investigating and see what comes up.. will keep everyone updated.

ok.....big theft ring going on around the richmond area. placed a lot of phone calls and to my suprise, most people i spoke with said they knew of other people who recently got their eg's stolen. the thieves reside in richmond and i think i know what kind of vehicle they use... the same car was spotted twice. (a white evo with carbon fiber parts.

crazy part about all of this is that a majority of the cars getting jacked are nothing special... almost bone stock cars- yet, they still are stealing them.
