Another wheel squeak thread
Something near my front wheel squeeks like a ****.
It squeaks only when I turn left, and it squeaks only on the driver side.
It squeaks only on hard turns, or on fast turns.
Doesn't sqeak when going slowly around a corner unless the wheels are turned all the way.
My CV boot is cracked, well, worse than cracked... The grease is almost all out of there... Anyhow, I got a whole new axle and that'll be taken care of.
According to my search my problem would be CV joint or wheal bearing related, but according to the shop I bought my axle from, it would be something else.

Re: Another squeak thread (blaze_125)
A bad cv normally will make a clicking sound. If replacing it doesn't take care of the problem check all the ball joints and inner/ outer tie rods. bounce the car on the front end and see if you hear the squeak. it could be in the suspension

The LCA bushings were changed last weekend.
It doesn't squeak at all when I go over bumps, only when I turn left.
When it sqeaks, it does it until the wheels are back straight

I would still say axle, change it and see If it still sqeaks... <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by instructor74 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> problem check all the ball joints and inner/ outer tie rods. bounce the car on the front end and see if you hear the squeak. it could be in the suspension</TD></TR></TABLE>
If its not an axle its a ball joint, tie rod end, or a bushing, thats all there is up there

What would a "tie rod" be called in a service manual?
Never mind... it's still a Tie rod even in the manual lol

Tell me about it... I'm scared sh!tless of doing the job. I got my passenger side lower ball joint replaced a few months ago and the guy needed to press the axel out of the hub. Took 2 big guys pulling the handle of the hydraulic press to get the **** out.
I don't have a press, I'm not a big guy. If the axle is ceased in there... I'm kinda screwed.
According to what I saw in other threads... I could get the whole thing done within 30 minutes if everything goes well.

Quick update.
The squeak was indeed caused by my cracked cv boot.
I swapped the axle this week end and it hasn't squeaked since.
Is it really 134 lbs that needs to be put on the axle nut??? Looking at how hard is was to get off, it 134 seems kind of low...
