Default Annoying brake squeakage problem...

I'm hearing a 'squeak' from the left front wheel area as I drive.
The squeaking increases with speed. i.e. not a squeeeeaaaaaaaak but a squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak... etc.
It's not very loud but can be heard over road noise/Azenis howl.
It goes away when I apply the brakes or turn.

I took the pads off, put some brake quiet crap on 'em, put 'em back on. Caliper looked fine, rotor looked fine, piston was easily compressed. It's not the heat shield rubbing against the rotor. There's no sand or pebbles I can see in the brake area. There's nothing rubbing on the wheel. There's no gravel in my tires. My brakes work just fine. The car turns fine, handles fine, etc.

Any advice? It's pissing me off.

dang, you pretty much eliminated all the possibilities i could think of. that's what a post should be like on h-t!

maybe the piston in your caliper isn't retracting all the way, causing your pads to rub audibly?

I was thinking about that but would wheel bearing noise stop when I brake or turn?

Someone said it might be my break wear indicator slightly rubbing but when I brake or turn it flexes a bit and stops?

I'm trying to eliminate all possibilites for I have to **** with a wheel bearing r/r.

as the load on that bearing changes, the sound it makes will change. you might recheck those wear idicators. like you said, getting into the bearing isn't exactly desireable.
