Re: Am I overpaying for EP3 Seats?
dont know if they will fit, but first off.................. dont do things stupid, im not a hater to anything that anyone wants to try, first off i have a 99 em1 dont get seats that can not bolt down to all four edges... first off its not safe, and it will make the seat wear alot faster mech. wise..... there nice seats etc. good price, but think of when you take off from a light or where ever you might be you will lean because its not bolted down.

No they will not mount. You'll have to get different rails. EP3 seats sit much higher off the floor than EG6/DC2. Have you ever sat in them? I have an EP3 and I would say they are pretty uncomfortable compared to the EG6 seats I have.

People don't freakin listen like taking the airbag out of a daily driven car.

Thats probably considerably less unsafe than running with 3 bolts. I've seen several reports where they say airbags really don't help in many accidents and can even cause problems in others. I think its just something the government jumped on too quick without really looking into it.

There are many instances when an airbag may have made things worse in a crash but that is typically due to the occupant not wearing a seatbelt... I just think removing an airbag on a daily driven car is foolish. It is there for a reason, there is much more evidence to substantiate that it is safer being there than not...

Re: Am I overpaying for EP3 Seats?
I bought mine from a friend 2 years ago for $400, but I'm sure the price has gone down a little bit (depending on the condition).
As far as the bolts lining up, the front 2 WILL NOT without some kind of modification (I had a friend who owns an automotive performance shop and is very skilled at cutting/welding take care of those for me).
Now, comfort wise...they were pretty comfortable, but a little stiff (kind of a sporty feel), and they do sit MUCH higher than the stock ones or an equivalent. I'm a smaller guy (5'8", 135lbs.) and they were comfortable for me, but for taller/heavier people, I can't recommend them AT ALL.
It got to the point that nobody really wanted to ride or drive my car, so I just bought a set of GS-R leather seats, but I haven't had the chance to try them out as my car is getting worked on.

On craigslist they go from 300 to 400. Thank you for posting how they sit much higher. I really wanted a set and planned on doing a seatpan swap but am just gonna get s2000 instead now because I'm 6'1".

i found some up where i live for 200$ and they were in perfect condition. .the person had just dropped some aftermarket seats in. And as far as safety, yea you have to do some fab work.. don't stack washers .. or just bolt down 3 posts..

Re: Am I overpaying for EP3 Seats?
EP3's are garbage anyways, not worth the hassle to making them fit right when there are other options that will fit much better and look 10x better... EP3's came in my hatch when I bought it and it felt like I was driving a monster truck, blah...
