Default Alternator Wiring

The wire on top that is held on by a nut and has the tophat....does this wire go straight back to the fuse box? In other words, can I just unhook it and run a new (longer) wire to the fuse box and be able to put my fusebox where I please?

Do you guys ground off this pivot bracket? Not really sure where exactly to run my alternator ground from.

Thanks!

Yes and Yes.

Why do you want a ground wire for the alternator? It grounds locally on the engine already.

Great!!! I wonder why more people don't use longer wires to their fuse boxes when they tuck. The Helms manual does not indicate that the white power wire is its own separate wire. It makes sense because it's so big, but I wasn't sure if it branched out under the loom somewhere.

As you can see I got a Chasebays ground kit for the "bling" factor. There is 3 grounds included. Valve cover, trans, and I assume Alt. Also, you can see my oil pressure sending unit is on the sandwich adapter. I was also going to run that ground to the alt. bracket.

Correct me if I'm wrong on anything, and THANKS for the response!
