Man, I feel you man. I have the same feeling when I get my rims. I sat there and kept looking at them like they're the biggest, baddest, softest boobies I've ever touched. hehe

I know im asking for a flame or something. Can someone please tell me why so many people are proud of knock-off rims? It seems kind of strange how much people try to push them off as the originals. I realize that the originals cost more. But in most cases the original rims are made better. I started with a set of Rota Slipstreams and after cracking one I got 2 more Rotas. But shortly after that I didn't really like how the Slipstreams were built. So I got a set or used is good condition Mugen RNRs. I spent about the same price for 6 Rotas and Tires as I spent on the RNRs. If I but another set or rims I dont think they will be Rotas or Tenzos.

Because we're poor. Tires and rims are weareable items. That means it will crack, bent, scratch. Would you rather bent your $100 a rim or $400 a rim? If you have money for the real thing. Good for you? I'm proud of my knock off rims because they're light (11 lbs) affordable and look pretty damn good. Yes you can get the SSR Competition for $1200. With that money, I can get 1 set or rims and 3 sets of tires. Now you tell me who's getting a better deal?

I realize that the knock offs are cheeper and that means you can put the money into something else. But at the same time the knock off rims are not made as strong and in some cases as light as the originals. Personaly I would want a stronger lightweight rim over just a lighter rim.
I realize that tires wear. But rims should last you a long time if you are good to them.
Well thats my .02

Money spent is money spent regardless of it being $400 or $1400......some people bust their asses to be able to get a set of rotas. Its all about having pride for what you worked for.
What Im confused about if the fact that you were dissatisfied with the construction of your low-pressure cast aluminum slipstreams so you purchased low-pressure cast aluminum mugen rnr's??? For the money you should've at least gotten something forged if you were concerned about wheel strength. Cracks me up how some people think jdm wheel=strong.
