Hey stupid.....those were track times.......no **** the Low profile tires will do better.
When have you ever raced someone on a track.
Most races happen from stoplight to stoplight. That is where tire size effects acceleration.
Now go away.
EDIT: One more thing. Ever notice how PRO STOCK cars on the strip run 15" rims!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Wow, didn't take long at all.
I race every third weekend in the Atlanta SCCA...
And I use 15" wheels.
And I don't race stoplight to stoplight.
So I think I will stay.
Oh, and I respect your choice to disagree with me...

Dammit, your response makes me look like an ***.......(when did people start learning how to dodge flames?)
N-E-Way, on the track there is no arguement that the larger rims will help with corner speeds. However, spreading the weight away from the center slows down acceleration and therefore is "slow" for straitline racing.
Besides, you stated that you race with 15's!!! On the track I would suggest 16's on the the strip I would suggest 13's (with big meaty slicks).

Re: For all you guys flaming these poor kids for upgrading wheel size (Spade)
See I knew we could play nice. Yeah, I am considering which 17's to buy to slap race slicks on. Not for drag racing of course. I want te-37's or cp-035's.
I miss the days when message boards contained useful information. Don't get me wrong, it is sometimes entertaining to read pages and pages of imaginary conflict.
I have lately noticed an animosity towards larger wheels, and I wanted to let the more inexperienced people know why people originally used larger than stock wheels. Well, besides to bag da fliest hunnies yo.
I realize they are not good for drag racing, but some of us still like to turn while going fast.
Now tell me i am wrong.

No, you did that all on your own.
The results are slightly skewed because they didn't use the same type of wheels for each size so it's unclear how much of a role rotational mass played. If that was constant it looks like that the increased corner speeds overcame the loss in acceleration and braking from the bigger wheels.
ps - I am operating from the basis that what is faster on a track is what is truely faster (I personally don't care about 1/4 mile ET's).
