Default To all worried about obd1 and obd2

Well i figured I would write this because its asked alot on here and i just did one of these swaps into my hatch last night.

My car: 1992 Civic Hatch Cx 1.5 d15b manual trans
Donar car: Totalled 1996 Integra Ls 1.8 B18B automatic trans

Many ask well when having obd1 and getting an obd2 motor swap what do i need is it hard?

Well you need a couple things....(i'll use my swap as the example 96' LS into 92 hatch)

1. need the obd1 ecu version of the motor (i got the obd1 ecu from 94 Ls) Plugs right in

2. Need the obd2 engine harness from the motor your taking (mine was the obd2 Ls harness)

3. You will have a bunch of useless plugs that can be cut off or left hanging(my car doesnt have abs or P/S so i have a bunch of those plugs etc.)

4. At the shock towers you will see 3 big electrical connectors (by the battery and master cylinder area) Just plug n play with those. You will have an extra one from the obd2 harness again u can cut it off or leave it hanging.

5. YOU WILL DEFINATLY NEED the rear bracket from a b series to work the last mount. Its the one that has 2 bolts go through the trans and 1 through the motor and the other side goes through the mount. Its an L Shape.

5. Things you WILL NOT need despite other peoples opinions...Conversion harness, obd1 distributor, obd1 injectors...those are needed if u keep your existing obd1 harness or going from obd0 to obd1. Again these ARE NOT NEEDED

6. Then after you have all the swap in and bolted up she will fire right up and you will be a happy swap owner.

Another little section to add i also did a auto to manual swap(not a total swap but most of it)

again many ask whats needed?

1. Manual tranny

2. Clutch kit(clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool.

3. Flywheel

4. This is a big step i forgot and therefore was held up for 4 days waiting. You NEED the 8 flywheel and 6 Pressure plate bolts. These are 12 pt head bolts so u can eithewr get them from a junkyard or get ripped off at the dealer like myself.

5. OBD1 ecu must obviously be for a manual trans

6. Need a starter for manual tranny

7. Slave cylinder

8. Clutch master cylinder

9. Clutch pedal

10. the obd2 engine harness all the trans plugs from auto plug into the manual i think theres one thats an extra

Well i believe thats it. It was one hell of a swap considering autozone screwed me over for 2 weeks. but its almost over just need the rear bracket and to put on the brakes and wheels. And just remember when doing a swap if anything can go wrong it will so plan time accordingly.

If theres anything i forgot feel free to add.

and to answer the other question No im not 100% complete yet. I gotta get and install the rear bracket, put the brakes and wheels on, put exhaust together and double check everything then she will be ready to roll.
