Default Are all D-series oil filters the same?


just as the title says...

I got a JDM D15B and not sure what filter it takes...

i believe the honda insight filter is smaller and some people use it to build up extra oil pressure

Correct, I am sure that there are some that are different, but as far as this thread is concerned all D-series oil filters are the same.

or the fram tough guard is a TG 3593A

or you can go to the dealer to get the S2000 filter which is bigger and allows a 4qt oil v.s. 3.7 which fits on there fine

id go with the s2000. since it fits, and its slightly bigger. i recently bought an nsx filter for the same reasons.

I think most Hondas (save for Passports (Isuzu Rodeo)and old school MDX's (Izusu Trropers)) use the same filters...

sum it up...
MOST oil filters (which is 3593A) are the same for honda's.

thanks - just wanted to be sure - the filter that is on it is JDM and has Japanese writing on it - of couse I have no idea what it says...

I work for an auto parts store. All of the honda oil filters are the same from 88-00. EXCEPT for the s2k.

don't get a fram they suck ***. Every person that I know that has used their filters had lower oil pressure. My dads truck was the same way, when he bought it it had low oil pressure and also a fram filter, when I changed it I didn't use another fram and now his oil pressure is great. Use a Purolator L14459 or even a Purolator Pure One filter PL14459, personally I use the pure one myself it's a micron filter. They make damn good filters IMO

Edit: My friend buys honda filters and they have writing in japanese too. I buy purolator cause it's readily available here at advance
