Icon2 aftermarket pedal question?

looking for a set of pedals/pedal pads whatever, for my 98 hatch.

when i baught the car it came with those stupid autozone ones. i like extra width of the gas pedal but my problem with them was the brake and clutch pedal where HUDGE it made manipulating the pedals okward (my size 12.5 shoe and big wide pedals dont like each other)

looking at a few different brands for pedals and was wondering if i ordered a pair like mugen, sparco, momo, or the metal ones with the rubber nubs on them, if they are a stock or smaller size brake and clutch pedal. im not to worried about the length its the width.

right now im just running bare metal brake and clutch but left the extra wide gas pedal on. its just not very fun in the rain.

also has anyone had any realy world/race experiance with skateboard grip tape or stick on sand paper on the stock metal pedals?

the size of the pedals changes brand to brand some even advirtise short and wide or long and skinny.

as for the grip tape ya iv known a few ppl that get 3m from home depot or the good stuff from the skate shops and love it (unless you drive barefoot)

i personaly use the stock brake and clutch rubber pads and a cheap *** (wider than stock) gas pedal and like it. good luck finding oem pads though i never even saw them on the parts stores websights. got mine at a bone yard.

i did the grip tape before and it sucked. came apart after a while of daily driving. just go to autozone and find the replacement oem rubber pads.

Not saying you wrong, but isn't the good grip tape at like skate shops or home depot really cheap? I remember seeing like 100 yards for 50$ i believe. How long did you go before they wore off. WHILE they were on was it comfortable to drive with? Just wondering lol

i bought a 3ft roll from a skate shop for like $20. basically enough to cover the deck of a board. it started peeling from the corners almost immediately and after a few months was damn near falling off. my gf threw away the excess so i just bought the pads at autozone for like $2 each. if my shoes were wet it wouldnt grip for ****.

I have genuine mugen pedals. I prefer them alot over stock as they have more grip than stock imho and they are only slightly bigger than stock. I would recommend them and still easy to heel-toe. If you decide on mugen pedals and don't want to pay retail, replicas can be had cheap (~$30).

Mob grip tape from a skate shop is about $5 and it last longer than other grip tapes. Grip tape pedals are my choice. I will also be bending my pedals to get them in the perfect spot.

I love my mugen pedals except on days I wear flip flops because I usually take skin off my knuckles when I get in.
