Default Aftermarket 99-00 civic headlights

any particular place better or brand better than others? I got in front ender and broke the tabs on my OE ones. so its time for a new set. I'd like some with the clear reflector similar to the jdm ones, it appears to me that the OEM CTR headlights are more of a gunmetal than black, and ive found millions of types of headlights, so looking for suggestions before I purchase, thanks.

$60 buys some OEMs, fine grit sandpaper and some Plast-X.

OK, it seems that some aren't getting my question. OE's are fine, but not what I'm asking about, now am I?

Yes aftermarket headlights are cheap, but they usually have very poor lighting quality, they will probably end up fogging/oxidizing rather quickly, and unless you are lucky they are usually just total garbage. Just save yourself the headache and go with OEM. OEM will last much longer and you will be more than satisfied.

I got cheap ebay black housing headlights for my 99 hatch and they look and fit great...The lighting quality is just as good as my OEM's and i have had them for about 6 months and i have not had any moisture, clouding/oxidizing at all. I don't know if this is normal to do but i wax them with with ardex topaz paste wax along with the whole car when i do it and they have held up nicely...They still look brand new.

You answered your own question a few posts back. If you plan to get legit CTR headlights once your paint is complete it doesn't really matter what type of headlight you get now, just go for the cheapest.

I would go with depo. They are cheap and make pretty decent products. Never had any of their headlights, but I have some depo fog lights and I love them.

Yup, not sure why this guy would spend twice the money on crappy looking aftermarkets when it's just a temporarily situation.

My ex got me these for my bday. They were $100 on Amazon. The quality is good, I rean a bead of clear silicone around the housing for extra protection. The lightout put is good, the beam pattern is good as well. They just needed to be adjusted once installed.

So you'd rather spend $100+ on poor quality aftermarket lights instead of $40-60 for a decent set of OEMs because you have a wife and kids? Wouldn't you want to SAVE money not spend more of it? You said yourself it's just temporary until you buy CTRs so if you're saving up for $300 headlights you probably don't want to waste the money now. Hell if just the tabs are broken but the lens are fine, go find two headlights at the junkyard that have good tabs but broken/oxidized lens. Spend a couple hours with the oven, silicone and some spray paint if you want black/gunmetal on the inside.

Or just get something like this and call it a day. ~$65 shipped

For a hundred bucks those look great for brand new lights, way better than any crappy ricey aftermarket lights on eBay.

Thanks, she found a 100% seller. The ad stated they were guarantted not to leak and 100% OEM fitment.

OP if you search around, you can find a good deal on used OEM, if not go on Amazon (Ebay tends to have the really cheaply made headlights) My OEM lights were garbage, the lens cleaned up but my housings and tabs were all broken due to the fender bender the previous owner had with the car.

I have a set of Depo headlights on my 2K since 2010.

These are _not_ like Depo knockoff fog lights. They are 100% exact reproductions and the quality is indistinguishable from the OEMs. I'm extremely picky about this stuff and wouldn't have kept them if I thought otherwise.

Another plus is they're easy to find without the amber side reflector.
