Aerogear carbon fiber hood any good? *pic*
A friend of my sister is selling an Aerogear cf hood for a very reasonable price. It's a "grade b" (which is supposed to be very high quality). He says it fits perfectly and is absolutely flawless. The edges are rolled and it uses the stock latch and doesn't require hood pins.
My question is, has anyone had experience with this brand? Are they any good? Anyone with something bad to say about this brand? Lemme know what you guys think, here's a pic:

I dont know anything about Aerogear CF's but GRADE "B" quality is ok....are you mainly looking for a lighter hood with good enough quality or "SHOW" quality hood?...and Grade "B" is lighter than Grade "A" but doesnt look as good...from the pic though..it looks good....try VIS though cuz i've seen there hoods personally and I like em....

ive never heard of grade a or grade b but i know how to tell the quality by the # of strands per fiber 3k,6k,10k and the weave. ive seen kaminari hoods and i know those are awesome hoods for daily drivers

There really isn't any correlation between the bundle size ("k" size) and the quality of the hood. It's all about how it's made. Everyone says that the larger the bundle count (6kx6k, 12kx12k) the better the hood, but that's really a bunch of crap. Larger weave size fabrics are cheaper per weight than smaller fabrics, and build up thickness faster, but it's all about cosmetics in this industry. Hoods are pretty non-critical peices as far as strength, etc. goes, but more layers of a smaller count fabric would be much stronger per weight than fewer layers of thicker, coarser weave fabric... Anyway, I can't begin to tell you the amount of crap that people pass off as carbon hoods and change insane prices for. Look at the construction of the underside substructure and how that is joined to the hood skin, and don't just fixate on a pretty skin. I really can't stress enough the importance of how the substructure is attached, that's will decide if your hood folds over your windshield or not. Good hoods are rare. Fiber images is pretty nice for what I've seen, and there are some others, but anything that's affordable is usually cheap crap. I don't even have one because I can't afford one that actually looks well built... I'll be building my own in the spring, it's fun and how many people can actually say they made their hood?....
Don't be fooled by judging quality by fabric type.
That was a really big tangent, sorry, but I just had to say it....
