$300+ is NOT worth spending on an intake.

where did you get it from? ive been looking for one forever!!!!!!!!!

No, a $300 intake is BAD!!!!! its one of the most idiotic things you can do. Its just a metal pipe with a filter. Buy a cheap short ram or cai off of ebay and put a nice filter on it and you get the same performance!

for 300$, you can go to ebay. 31$ short ram intake, 13$ short shifter, 25$ NGK iridium spark plugs, 30$ front tower bar, 40$ front and rear lower tie braces, 150$ kenwood head unit. For the HP gain of that intake, you can do just as good with a generic intake, after all, its a pipe, and with a 5$ can of engine enamel spraypaint, ceramic coat the in and outside of it, to reduce heat. This will give the same hp, minus maybe 1hp, which you wont notice. See how you can spend that cash? I mean AEM is THE best, but if you're not with a racing team, or someone else buying the cash, dont get it. Look at all that other **** you could get for the same price? Which would you be happier with?

I got the intake barely used from a fellow ClubSi member. They probably bought it for $40-$60 when the fake ones first came out. The price was so good that I traveled close to an hour and half to come get it

I havent seen any fake j's for sale for the longest time. I got my intake back in June though. I remember seeing a sponsor, I think it was memoryfab.com, selling fake Top Fuel (which looks similar to J's) intake. For $150 though

One of my friends used to have a V2 on his SI. It was throaty and I "guess" it added some power, but it's an intake. They don't add all that much HP. It's on an R swapped 2 door now and it sounds mean as hell.

I have V2 on my Si. Sounds awesome and definetely has more pull than before. The only complaint I have is that it bangs against the subframe because the way its routed. But after intalling some mount inserts, its all good. Maybe expensive but its AEM and your paying for the R&D that went into developing it. One more thing, I spanked my buddies Si and he has AEM CAI & Apexi WS exhaust.

spending your $ on intakes and such are cool, but you need to realize that it is just an addiction and you are nickel and dimeing your self until you go forced induction or nos

So.. When I try to bid/buy in ebay.. my broblem is the shipment. I'm from Manila, Philippines... actually I use to use ebay when I in US but now I have no chance to travel in US...

the use CAI aftermarket parts here in Manile cost $150-200 buck.. CAI fabrication cost $100-150 buck.. a reason why my choose s AEM V2..

Appreciate if u able to give me some good info for product shipment...

Thanks to all your response...

FINALLY....a direct answer to the original question that was asked....lol

I agree that they're expensive because they are new on the market, they use the latest in intake technology and you're paying for all the R&D that went into developing it....a hell of a lot more than any ebay intake. I also find it interesting that so many people call it "just an intake" when you could say the same about most headers for a Honda. "It's just a pipe that comes of the head". There are some headers out there that for the most part do little more than that but there are also many others that cost a lot more because of the R&D that went into them. If you look at the power gains between them do they really justify the price difference between a cheap one? I think they do when you consider that most things you do to Hondas (outside of FI or nitrous) only result in small power gains. If that's the result, then maybe for some of us it's worth spending the extra money to get the best gains from the parts available. A couple extra hp here and there add up and can make the difference in the long run power wise.
