Adjustable cam gears are designed to go with aftermarket cams so you can advance or retard the timing to gain the most horsepower for your specific set up. You could always pick them up and hang on to them for future builds, but imo not worth it on a stock d...not hard to replace though if you do pick them up.

yes you can get more hp out of a stock engine with a adjustble gear just like advancing your dizzy but i would not advance it more than 4 lines. people have diffrent opinons on this it is just a matter of what you want some say get it with other parts some say it is not worth it at all but it is proven that putting them on a stock engin it gives you hp
and no it isnt hard just get a 12 wrench or ratchet losen the bolt WITH THE TIME-ING BELT ON!! then losen the belt tensioner up under the motor mount take the belt off and on some civics the camgear key is made on the gear if yours is then you will have to get one from honda about 3 bucks but if it aint put it on make sure the adj camgear is at 0 degr and make sure every thing is at top dead center 2

It's almost a waste of time to tune the cams on a SOHC civic. You can advance them mildly but that's about it. It's kind of a waste of time. You should save some money and turbo it. Advance the ignition timing a little and get a good fuel mapping system.

You don't build a performance beast with 15 $100 parts.

More noticeable gains are built with 1 $1500 part. do the math

Fixed.

And having the timing belt cover off is risky. The timing belt cover's job is to keep anything from getting in there, rocks, dirt, wrenches, small animals. If something does get in there, it can be disatrous for your precious d16z6.

Boost that thing.
