Default Additional HP

Just got my DX 2 weeks ago and the bitch is slow as hell. Any other mods that I can put on aside from the basic bolt ons (headers, intake, exhaust and straight piping). I can not afford a swap right now. Any suggestions?!?

Nothing really, i suppose you could go turbo but that would be up their with a swap price wise.

Maybe you could get a lighter flywheel to get better accel.

I would just save your money for a swap.

Doing a swap here in CA is so much of a hassle. You still have to go to the referee and blah blah blah. Otherwise you cant have your car smogged and registered. Stupid law. Do other states have strict laws on hybrids or its just here in CA?

get a Si/EX tranny, a CRX Si cam, and simple bolt ons. Should be good for 120 whp and a quicker gear ratio. Maybe go with a thinner head gasket or mill your head. All that stuff will be under 400 bucks and hp/dollar ratio would be pretty nice

Bolt ons won't do anything. I bought a D16Z6 and I am pretty happy with the performance boost. And for $500 or less you can't beat it. Or you can go cheapo junkyard turbo kit for around 500 or so. Getting any measure of performance NA with that motor is going to cost a bit and require pulling the motor and rebuilding, but it's fun so why not? Save the $600 or so on IHE and do some real mods, then do IHE.

Hey VTECVOODOO is that a North Shore movie poster in your avatar? Kick ***!!

Swapping a D16Z6 is a good idea. You can get them dirt cheap and it will teach you how to do a swap.

hmmm. instead of saving for a sohc vtec, i would start saving for a b-series. i think that would be worth the wait.
