Acura EL conversion on 99-00 Civic Si
Friend of mine was driving my car and took it off roading a bit and now I have to get all new front end parts. I was thinking since I have to get fenders, hood, lights, bumper, radiator support, etc... anyway...this could be a possible time to just do some kinda conversion. I got a check issued to me to get the car fixed, so now I'm rounding up all the part info etc.. to make the order. I'm either gonna put it back to OEM standards like it was before or I'm kinda interested in this OEM Acura EL conversion that to my knowledge bolts right up to the 96-00 civics, though if I'm gonna do a conversion, I wanna do it right and have it all OEM. Does anyone know what is exactly needed to make this particular conversion work on a Coupe Si? hood, fenders, bumper, headlights, grill..and thats it or what? Also, if anyone could give me a number to call so I can order the actual OEM parts that'd be even better.. I was thinking either way whether I go with the EL conversion or stick with the SI look, I could maybe order all the parts, nutts and bolts from Canada and save a little money from ordering from the local honda dealer...
Better yet, if anyone knows some info to the car above or his actual email address etc... that might help out too if he can answer some questions that I have. Somebody posted this picture on the SM board so I was thinking it might be someone sorta local.
Any help would be great. I'd like to get the car fixed asap. Is there any online parts site that I could order all the parts kinda like Majestic Honda where it shows detailed pictures of every single part, nutt and bolt? What are some other clean looking conversions that are possible for the amount of money it costs to replace the origional Si front end? Any pictures would be great... Thanks for taking the time to look.

Re: Acura EL conversion on 99-00 Civic Si (GreenD16)
no no no, I have a 99 Civic Si that I let my close buddy barrow and he ended up taking a corner to fast, sliding off the road and doing some front end damage. So now I need to replace all the front panels (hood/fenders/pass headlight/bumper/lip/radiator support) so I was thinking about possibly doing a conversion with the money he's giving me to fix the car.
The picture of the hatch isn't mine... its just a picture of a Acura EL conversion on a 99-00 hatch... I'm trying to get info on what I need to do that exact conversion on my 99 Si, also where to get the parts and how much the entire conversion costs. If I'm gonna do the conversion, I want it done right. I'm really picky about everything lining up and looking OEM.

I'll check out that visracing.com site... see if I can find anything.. I've heard that the EL conversions go for around $700-1000 Canadian... so whats that...$600-800 US.
As far as the conversion goes... bolts right up to a 96-00 civic's... no 92-95's though you can prolly make it fit if you had the money.. I like the integra front clips on the 92-95 styles..better yet, the JDM ITR front clip on the hatches...

Re: Acura EL conversion on 99-00 Civic Si (BigZ88)
Thanks for all the help so far guys.. I actually have to call Victoria Acura back...they were working on a grand total for me (prolly be kinda spendy from dealer). I guess I need a 1998 EL front end for it to work right...
I like the looks of the jdm link, so I'll email you later about pricing... What else would I need to make it work... just a EL Radiator Support?? Also, I have a 99-00 civic so would that work on mine? I noticed that particular like was for a 96-98. Kinda thinking it wouldn't matter since I'd be changing the entire front.. Anyhow, I'm at work right now so I can't really spend too much time surfing around the net... so I'll have to do it after 2pm when I get off.. Thanks Again!
