ACT heavy duty clutch worth getting?
I have a 98 civic ex. I am debating on gettin an ACT clutch but is it worth getting. My sohc turd is really slow anyways but would this clutch give me good improvements on launches. Is there another clutch thats not as much that would be just as good? thanks

If you need a new clutch, the ACT is a good unit. Sure it costs a bit of money, but if you plan on doing some upgrades, then it's worth the cost.
If you plan on swapping to a bigger engine, save your $$ and just get a cheapie clutch to tide you over.
If you need a price on ACT, IM me, and I'll get it for you.

ACT killed my tranny... well actually my differential. but i guess thats what a four puck will do to it.

http://www.diabloautosports ..they ve got a selection of ACT s ..no problems with mine with a JRSC..undernormal OEM will work fine..but with heavier mods. definitly look for an upgraded clutch...a new flywheel is iffy..but, if ur in the market for a flywheel, may as well do the install at the same time while ur in there

If you're running the stock motor, run the OEM clutch. I know people that run the OEM clutch even in prepped motors...it's what they prefer, and they're pros

i busted my diff so bad that i would get stuck merging on to a main road from being parked next to a curb. The steering wheel wouldn't turn at all.
Busted diff=
IMO centerforce stage one with a OEM clutch disc or just a complete OEM clutch set-up.

unless your racing or doing serious mods don't get a act. i got mine cause people said it was great. so great i went through two trannys...on the third now. now with great mods and purple haze it's worth it. and i just added a weapon r throttle rotor. the clutch helped getting of the line quicker, but this little $25 piece helped a little more. i'd stay stock or get a cheap clutch master. there still a great clutch. had one on the crx and it never failed.
