I would get it as long as the frame wasn't damaged. That is a decent price.

The front definelty needs to be painted. But a cheesy job is good enough as I want this to be a sleeper.
But I am not a pro at frames, so...I may bring someone down there to take a look.

The thing is that the car had been work on and replaced with a 2000 front end and other whatnots. According to the seller, it was stupid reason to total the car for such little damage (only to the front bumper)

Sounds a little too high to me, i would go for $2,800 and not a penny more. Good luck!

It's so hard to find a EK for less than $3000. Even if it did came with an engine, I'll probably just throw it away. Towing it back to the shop is not much either...sigh, you know any good place for buying shells?

to them you should play off the front that u are buying the car as is, and not about ur future plans.
yours getting charged for the car with a motor, but it doesnt have one,
you get me?
offer him 2,500.
edit: funny thing is that he has the autolock on it, without a motor inthe bay...lol

Price seems nice, but who knows what odds and ends are missing. I would be afraid to buy a partially disassembled car...

expensive for a salvaged title, unpainted fenders, no motor, and missing stuff. remember blue book is probably around 5000 for one that is clean titled.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

Ask for a copy of the final body repair estimate before you buy the car, it takes a hell of a lot more than a bumper shot to total one of those cars. We just fixed one (98 DX Hatch) at the body shop where I work, and it was sideswiped all the way down the left side (repair fender, door, replace quarter, front and rear bumpers and left rear suspension) and it DIDN'T total. That car must've needed at least a partial front structure replacement, for which i'd be a little questionable. If you do buy it, take it to a body shop and have them put it up on a frame machine and bench and measure the car. They'll probably charge $90 to check it out, but it's money well spent with a rebuilt car that you didn't rebuild and didn't know the full extent of the damage involved.

as afr as parts it looks good. but i would check the history of it. because i don't think that just hitting a stop sign could put a salvage title on it. Unless you are just talking about a damage disclosure. But i could be wrong. and if you are gonna swap i would say it looks like a good chasis.

I got my salvaged 97 DX hatch for $1500 bucks with a running motor two years ago straight body missing interior and fenders. Shop around first before you jump on a deal. I'll help you look. Alot of 96-00 hatch's are salvaged cuz they were all stolen and stripped in NY.

Man! That's an inside job for sho!
Elmhurst...is it the street next to HK supermarket. That's where they found my 91 Accord all banged up after a joyride
My EK will look like **** from the outside, I don't care about ding and dents because it will be a road race car. Shiet...if you two got good insights, let me know to look for salvaged stolen vehicles.
