Absolute quitest exhaust?
I am lookign for the quitest exhaust possible with out being stock. I have a 92 hatchback and am running a Hytech replica header so i would have to get it "put together" by a shop if it is a catback.
I currently have a 07 SI muffler and a 18" resonator and it is loud and moderatly raspy...I just can't stand it
Thanks

Go to advance auto and get a dynomax muffler. Looks stock, and as long as you're not in vtec is sounds stock(on a b series)

I have to agree on the cat-issue. I was running a test pipe on my GS-R swapped Civic, but after having that "buzz" at 3,000rpm's and overall loudness (not to mention the exhaust fumes), I decided to get a Magnaflow/Carsound high-flow cat.
I'm not going to lie, it sounds awesome (minus the fact that I have a fart can on the end of it). It's nice and deep and when you open it up it sounds niiiiiice.
(BTW, it's a '94 GS-R in a '94 Civic...running an eBay 4-2-1 header, Magnaflow cat, and 2.25" cat-back.)

Stick with that setup, just put in a cat converter or install a glasspack in it's place. Either one will help with the raspy noises. Test pipe = raspy.

+1
After much research I decided that was one of the quietest. Picking it up with the tax return.

a straight up oem exhuast without a cat will be as loud as a ws2 exhuast without a cat. i had a setup like that on my cx hatch with a d16z6.

Yeah if you don't have a cat it really doesn't matter what type of exhaust you put on your car. It still will sound loud. How about buy a cat and call it a day. I promise you won't feel a noticeable change in how fast your car is, plus you'll pass emissions and save money!

Word. Just get a cat and if you want, a WS2 as well.
