I can NOT get the bolt out from where the rear shocks connect with the arm.

Ive sprayed it with penetrating spray on it, hit the breaker bar with a hammer, I put the end of a breaker bar in a tire iron and tried to pull on that and that snapped the 14mm socket. How the HELL do I get this thing off?!

pb blaster....keep trying and if that doesnt work just cut it off and get new bolts. most cars that i have had experience with the bolt just broke off.

I had a shop do my suspension so I didn't have to deal with that problem. They just PB Blasted it and torched it some and they were able to use all of the original bolts and bushings.

from my experience just heat it with a 10-15 dollar propane torch you get at your local hardware store. hopefully it'll expand and come off easier.

yea, don't bring it to a shop. be a man and do your own work... lol
pb blaster, torch, heat that ******* bolt up to all hell. get one of thoose high temp torches, let that on there for 5 mins. out like pie.

and "jiggy' a lot of people use this method. i've done it in the past, kthnx

And I snapped another one too so ive replaced it twice today. Good thing its a craftsman ..

i did that on my old ek, and i had remove the whole arm just to take the springs off.

Mine is rusted shut and stripped from previous owner trying to take it off

I have to get a used arm from the junkyard b/c this bitch is stuck, even the shop couldnt get it out...

If i remember correctly, that is one of the bolts that has grooves running the length of the bolt. Over a period of time the bolt rusts and the grooves and the rust make it harder to spin the bolt. Another thing is, when the car is jacked up and the suspension is fully down, the control arm is not perfectly squared between it's connecting points of the chassis and strut. This also creates a problem turning that F*^#* bolt. If you have no access to an impact gun, have patience and use the PB blaster. Spray it all over the whole bolt and even where the strut connects to the control arm. Spray it some more. I never used a torch and I have done a lot of honda suspensions.

Well, im taking a torch to it tomorrow to try and get it out.

Im going to need new bushings correct?

If you don't cook them, or they are cracked/squashed to bad, no. Just try heating the end where the nut is, then the head. But I would try letting the lubricant sit, tap it with little force (don't pound it) then try again.

Well, one bolt already snapped off so ..

Im really pissed off right now. I dont know what I need and what I dont need and if I can get what I do need by tomorrow.

See, that bolt has the latteral grooves, and is pinched all over the place (on top of the rust on the bolt/nut end). All things considered make it one of the toughest bolts to turn.

The head of it broke off.

All I need to know is if im going to need new bushings. Thats it.

Both my rear bolts were rusted in place. I ended up breaking them. I was able to get the strut off the lower arm, and I had to drill a little hole between the bolt and the side of the hole so some WD40 would get down in there. Then i took another bolt the same size and hammered it back and forth till it broke loose and finally came out.

forget about new bushings, that bolt is in there for liFE...

and even if u do replace the bushing, u'll need a press, and its better off buying a whole new arm

i wouldnt waste my time with that lca anymore. go pick up some fancy srr shizzi, or used lca's cuz those are FOOKED
