Default 99 EM1 - location of ECT fan switch?

Been having problems with my car stalling when the engine warms up. I used a obd2 scanner and noticed my temp. was getting to 230 and fans didn't come on. The gauge in my dash says the temp is right in the middle. Which sensor controls the fan. I don't have one on my thermostat housing.

The cluster temp gauge should read below the halfway mark at normal operating temperature.

The fan switch with a 2P connector is located on the thermostat housing.

I have a 99 em1. I don't see any sensor on my housing. The guy I bought the car from put a b16a3 in it. He swapped over the obd2 parts. I do have an extra plug with a grn and blk wire, on the pass. Side engine bay

That's the plug for the fan switch.

They must have put the wrong housing on my car when they swapped engines. Thanks for the help. I will get the right one.

You sure he didn't put an OBD0 engine in it, they have the fan switch on the back of the block
