I was driving the other day, car turns off while I'm going about 50, lose power steering, gauges all hit the bottom, can't give it any gas, radio is still working. So I pull over, it won't start up again but the engine will still roll over.

I installed a new battery, spark plugs, and fuel filter and I still have the same problem. I know the fuel pump is working because not only can I hear it turn on, but I detached the line and saw fuel squirting out so I know there is pressure. Plenty of oil.

One guy said it could be my alternator but I'm not sure... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you check if you have spark? If you have spark and fuel then you might want to check your ignition switch. If your car died and all lights on the dash was off then its probably your ignition switch...while trying to start the car play with the key and see if the car will start....

When my car stalled dash lights came on but I was in the middle of traffic so I don't know exactly which lights came on. I did not check if I have spark.. I'm kind of a noob with some things do I need a tester for that?
