Re: 99 d16y8 intake manifold (slopokb16crx)
you want the 96-98 IM . The 99-00 has the air injection ports. Don't know how or if you can compensate for that. You also may have a problem with the iacv because the 5-speed y8 im has holes on the rear for the iacv. I've heard that you can plug those holes with silicone, but I've never tried it. The auto y8 IM doesn't have those holes on the rear because the iacv is mounted on the tb like your y7.
I have a 96-98 5-spd y8 IM that I am putting on ebay shortly if you are interested.

Any auto manifold would be better so you don't have to plug the IAC holes. The air-injection is easy to plug up, just fill the small feed holes with silcone (or similar). Just don't fill the fuel injector area with silcone too. Just so stuff doesn't go down the air-injection nipple on the intake flange, you can put a vacuum cap over it.

Yeah im just going to seal it up, i already have the 5spd intake manifold, i got it off ebay, so no turning back to getting a automatic, but all in all it should work right?, just fill the holes up.

Yeah, those IAC holes are fairly large. With heat cylcing of the engine, I wouldn't trust silicone. Silicone only for the small air-injection holes.

It didn't work for you since you didn't know what to plug up! But it WILL bolt up and work!

Re: (slopokb16crx)
so its better to get the auto y8 mani so we won't have to plug up the iac holes?
edit: going by this site http://www.makuragi.s5.com/civic_99/Y8maniswap/ and they swap over the y7 tb and iac sensor. so by using the auto im would it be better since i wont have to plug the mt im iac holes with silicone?
thnx

Re: (KiddEng)
Yeah i just got my 97 d16y8 auto intake manifold today, going to put it on sunday, yeah im just using my d16y7 throttle body, fuel rail, fuel regulator, map sensor, and the tps sensor. The only thing im replacing is the d16y7 throttle cable plate. Im using a d16z6 throttle cable plate ( gold round piece with the spring on the throttle body ) the d16y7 throttle cable plate points in a different direction. The only thing i have to plug up is the cruise control vaccum port. extend some vaccum and coolant lines, and im ready to go.
