Default 99 civic keyless entry/power door lock issue

I bought the car not to long ago with the drivers power lock not working as well as keyless entry. The passenger power door lock works fine If I use the switch on the drivers door. However it does nothing with the remote.

I am assuming that the drivers door lock actuator has failed but was curious as to if there was something else to look at as to why both the drivers look and keyless entry have failed.

any info is appreciated.

So only the passenger lock works from the driver's lock switch and none of the locks work from the remote, right?

Does the remote have a fresh battery? Does the red LED light up when you press a button?

If the driver's door actuator gets battery voltage when the switch is pushed, then replace the actuator.

yes exactly. the led on the remote does light up.

Yeah I think that the passenger doors operate off the drivers door, thus if the drivers door does not open by remote, none of them will. I will find out tomorrow though and tell my findings.

Do you have a 99 LX or EX?

Do you have a control unit behind the driver's kick panel?

i have a viper alarm.

My driverside door lock works with the lock/unlock(arm/disarm)

But my passenger do not work at all with the remote, but if i were to do it manual its easy as butter.

Now even when the driverside switch motor was hooked up and i used it, the driver side locked//unlocked. So i unhooked the connector behind the door handle and my driverside still locks/unlocks with my alarm but the passenger doesnt.?

did the previous owner wire the motor to the driverside instead of the passenger side door lock? also why dont the switch work with my alarm even when plugged in ?

i tried to open up both doors and dont see any auctuators but i have TWO whole complete assemblies in my room that could be used.

But how is the driverside even working without aucuators??: i dont get it

I have swapped that one with a known good one and still nothing. Im still trying to source a local power door lock actuator and go from there.
