Hey everybody I have a 5 speed 99 civic Dx coupe and lately I've been having a problem with something either with my brakes or suspension, I'm not quite sure so maybe you guys could help. I'll try to explain the issue my best. Where I live there are potholes almost everywhere you go and huge cracks in the road. I try to avoid these potholes the best I can but sometimes I have no choice but to drive over them. The problem is whenever I drive over potholes/cracks my brake pedal violently shudders/vibrates and even though my foot is still on the brake pedal, the brakes arent engaging at all. Instead of feeling the pressure your suppose to feel when breaking, it almost feels I'm crushing gravel through my pads and I can feel it all through my pedal. This feeling/issue only last a couple or three seconds but I feel really uncomfortable when it happens. But whenever im driving on more smoother terrain my brakes work 100% the way they should be, no squeaking, no unusual noises or anything. I've done some searching but couldn't find anything. Only thing I read that came close to this issue is on an 8th gen civic forum where they have a similar issue with the pedal shuddering but people just said thats just the abs kicking in because of the over sensitive abs on those civics and when it happens to them, even though they feel the vibration, the brakes still work.. I'm guessing that's not the problem with my car cause I don't even have abs. I've driven a couple of ej6 civics exactly like mine and never encountered this problem except with mine. Anyone have any ideas to what it is? Sorry for the long essay like paragraph but any help is appreciated. Thanks
