Re: 99-00si vs. 02up si (FlamencoEsi)
I heard the coupe is much better!!
The new hatch are equipe with the K i-vtec motor, look more like a mini van than ever!! If you like the look of the new hatch or a ride that are less likely to get stolen, get the SI hatch!!

ok, first off. NO. what are you stupid? how are you going to compare a 1.6 litre 12 year old engine to a 2.0 litre 2 year old engine?
1. no replacement for displacement
2. K series responds SO MUCH BETTER TO MODIFICATION
3. does the word I-VTEC mean anything to you?
4. K series weighs less than B series, always a plus.
5. 6-speed close ratio tranny
6. TORQUE
7. Best B series = B18C5(197BHP, 134Ft/Lbs) Best K series K20A(220BHP, 152Ft/Lbs)
and the list goes on.

I think the coupe is better in terms of speed, and styling. but did you just say KA i-vtec motor? the KA is a ******* 240 engine man. and regardless of what car you get, if a theif wants your car, it will be his. regardless of any immobilizer BS, or the fact that the car is simply newer. wise up man.

Re: 99-00si vs. 02up si (FlamencoEsi)
as far as being mod friendly ive heard of some very nice numbers coming from the K series motors with minimal mods...
suspension wise, i would pick the 99-00...
both have very good platforms to start with...
i guess it comes down to which one YOU like better...

Re: 99-00si vs. 02up si (Racerage1)
not that is matters, except to the true JDM *****, but the 99-00 Si is the oddball of the group. ALL the Si's were hatchbacks.
but i guess honda has to have one of those "special" kids every now and then.
look at the vigor. inline 5? that thing is 10 years old, and its still stuck in first grade fingerpainting.

Looks is all about personal preferance so buy what u like to look at and can live with.
Secondly the K series engines r so much more superior to the B series, they responde very well to basic mods. Also with hasport and some other company's coming out with the mounts to put K series engine into the EK, EG and EF civics the cost of a swap will be greatly reduced because no more custom motor mounts.

If were talking about the K series that comes in the 03 si, it blows. The car was just given the **** end of the stick. Plus its designed in England, not exactly Japan, go figure.
