You need to change alot of components. You would be going from a cable operated system to an electric system. It can be done, but do you have the money and time? I cant give you a list of what parts you would need, just know there are alot of them. I had checked into doing it when I used to have a 96 Civic.

i practically have all the pieces that are needed to do the conversion. the only reason i'm not doing it right now is because there's way too much work involved. you have to rewire a lot of **** since the 96-98 is a cable system and the 99-00 is an electric system.

word. i was planning on doing this but you have to change the dash vents, the dash harness to 99+ then change the ecu and engine harness all to 99+ not to mention the climate control.
but any more info i can gather ima stick around for this..

i didn't know you have to change all the harness especially the ECU harness. i was thinking just to rewire most of the ****.

No you do not have to change the any of that ****.
Everything plugs/bolts/screwed right in and when we put the dash back on, it worked without splicing a single wire.

All of the Digital controls are inside of the little black plastic boxes.
You will not have to cut a single wire when doing this.

you have any pics of what you did? which wire harness do you basically need then?

Sorry no pics I did this about a year ago. Whichever car you are taking the parts from, take every black plastic thing from under that dash and you will be fine.

behind the climate control, there are a bunch of wire harnesses. the ones that connects to the climate control it self, and the other go to the tach, ECU, or the motor, etc. one of the harness has to go to the heater box. the heater box is the black box that you're talking about. what i'm asking you is which harness did you use inorder for you not to splice anything. or did you use your stock 96-98 climate control harness?

some of the 96-98 female/male dash harness fits 99-00 female/male dash harness? did you use all the wires though? i hope i'm not confusing you. later, i'll go in my garage and take pics of all the harness froma 99-00 SI. you'll see what i'm talking about.

here are some pics of the climate control and the harnesses . i really don't understand how you can say all the harness connects together and plugs in perfectly.
first off, the climate control and its harness (notice the wire harness in the back?) where did you connect that wire to?
and now, the parts where it gets a little confusing...where do you plug all these wires to inorder to make everything work? no splicing required like you said right? all these harnesses are from a 99-00 SI...
