99-00 navigation
not sure if this is in the right forum, but i knew it would get attention here. that being said....
since the 99-00 has a dual din, wouldn't
that work?
all you would need to do is install the 96-98 cupholder w/ a single din slot and add the control unit there.
what do ya think?

yeah, but those run for 500-1000 bucks on ebay. i'm talking about an OEM solution for under 500 bucks.

Everyone knows that if you use the JDM system it is functionally useless, right?
As for a USDM CRV system. Hell....if its DVD nav then all you should need to do is give it a power signal and then get the dvd's for it. Unless I am just really really wrong.

i don't think it would work, don't quote me on this but i think that it uses a different signal and just getting dvd's with the us map wouldn't work if it comes from any other country... again i'm not 100% sure

If your in japan
If your in the US
JDM hype has gone too far. Everyone is spending money on **** thats useless to americans. If you buy that not only are you asking to get jacked but you are wasting money that could be better spent elsewhere. And dont say money is no issue cuz if it werent you wouldnt be driving a honda.

The USDM CR-V never and still does not have NAVI as an option. That is a first gen alpine NAVI, I believe that unit came out of a previous generation odyssey.
Besides the screen, you also need the drive (I think its DVD) as well as the GPS antenna.
Personally I dont think its worth installing the old unit. Honda hasn't released any updates for the maps of that generation NAVI system for at least a couple of years. You cant get updates from any other source either.

it looks do-able... but I dunno if its worth it... my friend hooked up a small computer in his car.. touch screen.. everything.. uses Winamp for his music and he goes on aim.. and goes on mapquest.. anyways, technology rocks..
