Hey all!
I have a 97 Ej6 (dx) coupe. and i bought it with Em1 wheels in 2003. Much has changed with the car over the years. However after several layers of paint on the em1 wheels.. i want to go back and time and steal them off of my car right after i got it. BUT thats not possible. Anyways. Sillyness aside, I need to paint them because it would be to much work and money to have them re surfaced and have the accents powder coated. What color should they be painted. (right now buying new wheels is out of the question).
My thought was silver. Its as close as stock as i can think of. But mabey some of you have had succesfull wheel. Car body paint combinations that you thought were nice. If you have em1 wheels on your car that is black (because that is the color of my car) post them up if you could. Im trying to get rid of the Ugly wheels on it now. They are from my sisters Sherbert colored nightmare.



The tiburon is where the wheels were from. my sister thought they were cool but her car stopped running and i needed something with good tires. so i swollowed my pride. But soon i will have some tires on the EM1 wheels ... after paint ofcourse

Why dont you just strip the paint off and sand em and polish em?

That was my original plan I sandblasted them last year and started to try to refinish them with metal polish. and some sand paper but.. I dont know if i want polished wheels. I Like the Blades on the integras but im not a fan of polished wheels.

haha thanks!! lol I already have an ek front end sitting in my grandmothers garage. I got it at Venus-Auto tho.. the whole thing after shipping was 914 dollars. I needed new headlights. bumper, hood anyways so i figured id try something different

I would get the paint out and polish the Si wheels in my opinion.

Thankya!! i want to take more pictures when i get it back. i had a wee problem with her. A main bearing.... but i blame it on the guy who sold me the engine back in 04.. one shady ****.. i've had problems with that motor ever since. Had I known how much time.money.patiance, and sanity it would have cost me i would have dropped a k20 in it or a clean b16b or B18c5

The wheel Gunmetal looks good... I used to have them like that long ago. I like the silver also.

OK IM stuck still Ive narrowed it down... I found pictures of Black Em1s One of them is the UKDM EM1 which came with Silver wheel instead of machined wheels. THe other i grabbed from another thread on HT Opinoins??????

Thanks man! Every thing fits very well i was suprised. it fits better than my civic front did. And nothing rattles either!! It took a while to align everything before paint but its a wonder how clean things can look when every thing is not bent lol. here is a before

yet the ugly wheels still seem to stick with it.. Im very tempted to try to find one more steel wheel with a tire on it and put those on with stock hubcaps until i can get some tires on the EM1 wheels.. Thats how much i dislike these wheels. And thats why i want to be happy with the color i paint the EM1 wheels.. I dont want to make the mistake of what i had before in the car paint dept lol






ill have to check and see if i can use the polishing wheel at school when i go back in a couple weeks
