Icon2 99-00 Civic Sedan Hood

I know that all 99-00 civic front ends are interchangeable, between coupes, sedans, and hatches, but the sedans have 2 hoods and a different part number. And certifit's website says their 99-00 hoods fit all 99-00 except Japan built sedans.

Coupe/Hatch:
60100-S01-A01ZZ

Sedan:
60100-S01-A01ZZ
and
60100-S04-020ZZ

(Part numbers from thehondapartsstore.com)

So whats the difference between 60100-S01-A01ZZ and 60100-S04-020ZZ?

S01 is usually used for a generic 6G part. S02 seems to be for coupes originally, S03 for hatches and S04 for sedans.

They often are used on other bodies and even other models though, so I wouldn't give it too much thought.

All '99-'00 hoods are all the same. If there any reason you plan to buy brand new from Honda instead of buying used?

The S04 number was used on all sedans besides the GX, which I assume was US-built (it was only sold in the US and has a very different build than the other sedans).

I take this to mean that the S04 number would be the "Japanese" build sedans. I wouldn't worry about it anyway though.

I've never heard of a difference between the sedan hoods and the cars have been out for ten years now.

'96-'98 Civic coupe, hatch and sedan hood are all the same.

'99-'00 Civic coupe, hatch and sedan hood are all the same.

All of them will probably need minor adjustment after it's put onto the car.

Ever notice that no carbon fiber hood maker says that their hood is only for sedans or coupes or hatches?
