98dash harness in 00Ex? probs!! HELP!!
hey guys!.I am having a prob with my 00 Civic Ex........the car has been molested at one point and there is a 98 dash/radio/cluster harness in my car and it, and the R defrost wont work and the PWr mirrors wont work!
Is this why???..Should I buy a correct harness or is there a way to switch some wires or pins and make this work??? Everything else seems to be working ok!..But I need the Rdefrost and would LIKE the mirrors to work...??
Any insight or help is GREATLY appreciated!

Howdy.
So your engine harness is a 00 OBD2B EX Civic, but the dash is for a OBD2A 98 EX Civic? OBD2A and OBD2B use similar connectors for most sensors on the engine, but I'm not sure about the dash. You'd need to pull the dash off and see what's going on. Whoever swapped in a 98 dash to your 99 Civic obviously had some wires left over, maybe the connections were not the same so they said screw it, and half assed your car. You need a good manual, a soldering iron, and a lot of time. Or get a 99-00 dash
An OBD2B 99-00 Civic Si harness will work for an 99-00 EX motor, and I'd think the dash too, but you'd end up with the same problem. Your wiring harness for the dash is for a OBD2B 99 Civic and your dash is out of a 98 OBD2A Civic
Maybe you will find if you pull the dash off the previous owner simply didn't plug things in because they routed the wires wrong... who knows. I'd start by pulling the dash off and see what's going on
