98 EX Check engine
98 Civic EX 110K miles.
This is what I have: has Codes P1399 & P0302. Codes keep coming back (always the same). Light goes off after 2 days. Slight miss felt at idle.
Tried Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel & air filter. T-belt (due anyway), & Valve adjust.
Lost at exactly where to throw my dart next.
P1399 = random or multiple misfires
P0302 = Cyl 2 misfire
Freeze Frame Data:
load = 37%
speed = 0 mph (odd.. look at RPM - car should have been moving)
rpm = 1995
ect = 87C (188F)
iat = 39C (102F) (Seems high for the time of year)
long term fuel = 1.6%
short term fuel = -1.6% (seen this go to 5% monitoring while driving temporarily)
map = 37kPa (11inHg) (Have seen this go to 23 monitoring while driving)
tps = 16.5%
Any & all help is greatly apriciated.

Re: 98 EX Check engine (EL Vap133)
No, nothing different. This has been going on for about 2 months. Very first time was after a 4 hour drive to the mountains. The next morning I went to start in. Started to go & the car stalled - checke engine light on. Ever sice it has been mostly local driving. Going to dive back in today.

Re: 98 EX Check engine (imknotright)
Sounds like your timing could be off! If so you could do many things to fix it but easiest would be get and adjustable gear (not for performance so don't be mislead) or for a DIY method mark your position on your distributor across the top for alignment. loosen the top bolts on your distributor (not all the way just enough to move!) with the motor running begin to slide it toward you to the most point of where your car idles smoothly. This may help, ir not??????
