Default 98 civic strut problem

hi, im new into imports. I fell in love with the hatches and had to have one. i am currently settling with a 98 civic coupe ex. it came with the d16y7 motor =[ no vtec. im going to do a mini me swap shortly though.
but first i need to fix something.
the person that had before me heated the springs to lower. it was okay at first but its now making noises and eating the tires. i was wondering if i could put stock 94 civic coupe struts on it with no problem.

thanks guys.

Yes, I've used '92-'95 front struts on my '96. There are 3 tabs around the top hat you may need to grind off (I had to) to get them to fit through the mount hole. Very easy to do, I just zinged them off with a Dremel.

Not too sure about the rears, run a search and see what comes up, or maybe someone else knows.

well ur problem is the springs not the struts so that wouldnt do anything. i would just go buy aftermarket good suspension unless you want to go back to the stock look. its eating ur tires because your out of alignment fix it and then go get the toe adjusted

well when they dropped the car, it collapsed the seals in the struts... should i just get some stock springs and go from there? would springs from a 94 civic coupe fit? i basically got a 94 civic parts car for the d16 mini me swap.

thanks guys.

you could go ahead and put the stock springs and struts. why the **** did they lower the car that way? that doesnt even help with handeling at all

.

Your correct on the front, i had to also while putting eg shocks in my friends 97

The rears will fit, however the shock fork is wider then the lca bushing, so either get spacers or bend the shock fork.

OP- the reason why your eating tires, is not due to your shocks, well, the shocks arent responsible for all of it. Your alignment is off, and the toe is killing your tires.
