98 civic question
i have a 98 civic hatchback and i have 2 questions....my right cv boot needs to be replaced because it has a hole in it....but theres a inner and an outter....which one is the inner and outter? on mine....the one with the hole is the one closes to the tranny.....and my second question...is the upper control arm supposed to move freely? or always trying to stay up....i just put in a new upper control arm today and the camber was HORRIBLE....and when i jack the car up...the tire would go down while im jacking it up....weird....but i dont know whats wrong...

Re: 98 civic question (aznrexboi00)
I agree on the new axle from AutoZone...lifetime warranty rules! And it's easier IMO.
The axles will drop down when you lower the car from a jack, and also, camber should be completely fine if you just put a new UCA on...if it's real bad, the UCA may be bad.
BTW...Honda's are designed without a camber adjustment and it should always be in the same place unless you bend a frame or suspension component in a wreck.

remove da wheel
remove axel nut
remove da knucle from the LCA
pry the axel out
BTW i would also get a new axel, because since there is a whole on it, a lot of dirt and grime may have gotten in there.
Also, have your car been lowered? Your wheels are suppose to drop down when you jack up the car. The Upper Control arm isnt going to hold your wheels up.
If your car is loweered you will need an aftermarket camber kit. That is the only adjustment.
Get the kit, adjust correctly and then go to your local brake shop and get an ALIGNMENT.
