Yes and NO i'll explain the OBD1 simple answer:yes so long as it's meant to go with your enginem so no using a p75 for your GSR(b18c) However all that goes out the window when it's chipped or has a s300 I have a jdm P30 with a s300 for my b20V. someone else can confirm the difference with obd2 and it not looking for certain things.

A JDM ECU will work fine, and wont look for a lot of sensors USDM OBD2 looks for (CKF, secondary O2, FTP). However as stated it wont communicate with a scan tool, if you live in a state with emissions testing just keep in mind this also means the car wont pass emissions with the JDM ECU.
