BAM! 93 hatch

Ok so my girlfriends 98 dx auto is having a major issue. We'll be driving down the road and out of nowhere the gas pedal goes limp and all the electronics shut off but the motor is still turning? Odd. So we sit there for a moment after completely shutting the car off pit it in park and take the key out. We are able to restart the car and go about our business. Now could this be something electrical? The motor only has 120k no leaks fresh tune up (timing belt, plugs, plug wires etc.) I have no clue where to look at this point. Rather confused. Can anyone give me some insight on what this might be?

CHECK IF IT HAD THE RECALL DONE .
