Default 97 SI air conditioning question

Hi all....
Having a problem trying to figure out what might be causing my AC to be working at times. Sometimes the AC is pumping out lots of cold air but other times it just doesn't seem to want to. I hear the compressor coming on and off.......but still really patchy on the cold air. Someone said it might be the shrader valve........anybody know if that might be the problem.

Thanks

It's not your shrader valve b/c if those went bad you wouldn't have any cold air. they are the "H" and "L" caps and hookups for a/c pressure tests. I'd say you might have a problem with the climate control unit. Maybe an electrical malfunction withen that causes the temp settings to change.

At what times is it cold and not blowing cold?

there doesn't seem to be any real pattern to when it will work well and when it will just hardly work at cooling.

I'm assuming you did a B16 swap into your 97 civic. Was the AC system evacuated before it was recharged? If it wasn't, there's air trapped in your AC lines therefore it's not cooling properly.
