<U>93-95 Del Sol's</U>:
93-95 Del Sol S - D15B7 SOHC non-VTEC - 102hp 98lbs/ft tq
93-95 Del Sol Si - D16Z6 SOHC VTEC - 125hp 106lbs/ft tq
94-95 Del Sol VTEC - B16A3 DOHC VTEC - 160hp 111lbs/ft tq
<u>96-97 Del Sol's</u>:
Del Sol S - D16Y7 SOHC non-VTEC - 106hp 103lbs/ft tq
Del Sol Si - D16Y8 SOHC VTEC - 127hp 107lbs/ft tq
Del Sol VTEC - B16A2 DOHC VTEC - 160hp 111lbs/ft tq
and before you ask, yes, the B16 codes are right.
the 94-95 Del Sol VTEC's are the only B16A3's.
and yes, the B16A2 also came in the 99-00 Civic Si's.
the difference between the two A2's, OBD2<FONT COLOR="red">a</FONT>/<FONT COLOR="blue">b</FONT>.
pythoner is referring to the VIN#'s (on your dashboard or firewall).

Re: (kydoster)
As others have stated the engine code is going to be the best bet, that or posting the VIN.
The engine code is stamped on the engine. If you're in front of the car, with the hood open, the engine will be on the right, and the trans on the left. Look at the line where the trans & engine meet, then follow it down a bit, should see a flat spot with a bunch of letters & numbers stamped on it.
One of the VIN tags is found on the dashboard, driver's side, all the way up near the firewall (where the engine & passenger compartments meet). Look at it from the outside of the car, through the windshield, there'll be a little indentation at the lower right.
To be honest, you probably want to check out both the VIN & engine code. The VIN will tell you what the car was mfg'd as. The engine code will tell you which engine is inside the car now. If anyone swapped in a different engine over the past 9 years, the code won't match what the VIN says should be in the car.
