97 Civic/sohc zc won't start - has spark and fuel
i have the same problem! it started yesterday. today i replaced the fuel injectors, spark plugs, and dizzy rotor but it is still not starting. i will test the fuel pump tomorrow. should i check the relay first of the fuel pump?

Check the main relay first. Are you getting spark?

i checked and i am getting spark and i am getting gas. to check the spark i pulled the spark plug wire out and connected an old spark plug into the wire and put a screw driver next to it to see if it shoots out a spark and it did. could the problem be my starter? if so, how can i check it????

its not bright white,just a regular looking yelloish one. i have a 97 ek hatch with a sohc zc on it,and it has an msd ignition cap, i checked all the spark plug cables and they all have spark sorry for the lack of info

i was reading about running low compression but i don't think that would be the problem because the engine is not old and i do not race or abuse the engine

Check if you have a good set ignition timing.
I had such a situation, faulty ignition control module in the distributor and ignition timing was reset 20 degrees.
The spark was, it was the fuel and the car would not fire. After replacing the ICM everything back to normal.

i got the car with a msd cap, how do i adjust that? move the distributor? and i just noticed this morning that i have gas in my intake manifold (i have the y7 ) and it is shooting fire out of it. i am guessing it is misfiring?

do fuel injectors have to spray gas like mist or squirt it out like its spitting? because i just noticed that they are spitting. i looked up some videos and they all look like they spray mist

ok. how can i fix the fuel pressure? would i need to replace the fuel pump or fuel filter? i am almost sure it is injectors because my spark plugs were soaked in fuel when i pulled them out to check them... would the fuel injectors drown the spark plugs where they do not spark? thank you guys for the info

Spark plugs were drowned in fuel? Yikes... are your injectors sticking on? If the gas was not misting properly, it would not be ignited and would begin to pool which is bad for the engine. Are all four injectors not misting?

also check wiring to the computer...i had the same problem,and the harness to the computer came loss.....good luck...

just wanted to thank for every one for their help. i ended up finding out that my car would not turn over because i had a bad catalytic converter :/ i was like WOW
