97 Civic Hatch AC belt removal
I need to change the belt. There is a engine mount shaft running from the AC compressor under the body frame. The AC belt goes around the mount shaft. Do I have to remove the compressor mount bolts? How do I get the belt off with minimal work?

I just support the engine with a block of wood on a jack and unbolt the mount. lift the engine enough to slip the belt through and replace. then lower the engine and tighten the mount.

Re: 97 Civic Hatch AC belt removal
alphalanos, thanks for the reply. I searched thru old posts and could not find the answer but did find the solution late yesterday in old posts. The lower engine mount (half-moon shape), drivers side, has to be removed to change the AC belt. To remove the mount: Remove the 19mm mount shaft bolt, Remove the (2) 14mm bolts on the mount. The mount will slide off. Change the AC belt.
