Default '97 Civic Ex p0700 & p0715

I've read a lot of threads with my same problem that go nowhere. This is what I have found...
P0700 just means at least one trans code was thrown
P0715 means there is a problem with the mainshaft speed (either is sensor/wiring is having problems or the trans is failing).

What I've read is that Honda has a TSB about this problem and that you may have a warranty for up to 150k or 15 or so years. Unfortunately I am at 160+ miles.

The linear solenoid looks like this:
http://autorepair.about.com/library/images/bl884lib.htm

The factory service manual tells you these are the steps you take to check a troublecode p0715:

From what I have read you need to flush the transmission and replace the linear solenoid (which is mounted on the front of the trans). I have flushed the fluid and I have replaced the trans solenoid with a new factory Honda unit.

The car acts just fine until I have driven it around for a while. The problem seems worse when it warm outside and takes place after about 10 minutes of driving. The longer I drive it the worse it gets. If the car has been sitting for a while everything works just fine. The only other issue I know of with the car is that the tps reads 9.8% when there is no tension on the throttle. The sensor either needs to be adjusted or replaced.

Now that I have given all of this information, I am finally ready to ask my questions:
1. Where does the circuit for the linear solenoid ground out to?
2. Which wire harness should I replace and does anyone have a part# for it?

Unlike multiple other threads with this issue I will actually follow up with what fixed the damn problem, not just leave other people hanging. Good help will be appreciated. Please don't tell me to swap to a manual, add a trans cooler, or any unrelated useless garbage like that. This car will stay an auto for as long as I own it. Thank you.

I also want to add when you order the linear solenoid from Honda it comes with a gasket. You don't need to order it separate even though the diagram makes it look that way.

Is the transmission the original or has it been swapped?

What did you find when you did the troubleshooting in the posted diagrams?

My guess is that you'll soon be shopping for a replacement auto transmission.

Thank you for your response! I haven't ran the other checks because I don't know which wiring to test. Your wiring diagram is much appreciated. When I get a chance to check I'll follow up with what I find.

The transmission is original.

I ran through most of the troubleshooting process without any problems. I decided to drive the car to see if the light would come back on. It was night-time when I drove it so things were much cooler outside. I drove 2x's the distance it takes for the light to come on and it never came on, nor did I have any problems. I'm going to wait until it is hot outside and drive it again until the CEL light comes on.

Why would it not have problems at night, but only during a hot day?

I just wanted to give another follow up to this issue. After replacing the linear solenoid and changing the fluid the car had an issue the next day. Since then however the check engine light has gone off and the car has not had any more issues. I'll continue to monitor it and post up if any changes have taken place.

Well, unfortunately the car started having the same issues again. I took the car to a local trans shop and they diagnosed it as a bad trans. Well, after nearly $2k for the cost of a rebuilt which included me pulling and installing the trans myself it is having the exact same issue. I'm very frustrated because I could have really used the $2k on other things right now. Anyway, I will follow up with the fix so others can avoid the same nightmare I have faced. This car has become a money pit.

When I took the trans back for a 2nd time I believe they said it had a cracked drum. The car has worked just fine since then.
