I think anytime you buy something from vtech, they give you the base which connects to the phone line and an electrical outlet in the wall, make sure you charge it everynight for optimum performance.
Gotta give a bump for the search engine

If a member asks where the VTECH solenoid is on his or her car, just answer. No need for the VTECH phone pictures, no need for 20 posts calling him a noob and telling him how VTEC is spelled. Honestly, it’s not that important. Answer their question and then get on with your day.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Read the rules buddy. Both of you.
josh_sims, do a search about this. It has been covered many times. Also look at the FAQ from ricey mcricerton at the top of the forum page.

If you get the wiring harness and ecu, you won't have to worry about "hooking up" the VTEC, it will all be ready to go.
Since you don't know at all what you are doing I'll give you the easy route instead of the cheap route...get a 96-98 Civic EX manual trans engine harness, an OBD2a-OBD1 conversion harness, and if you don't already have an ECU get a P30 or a P28 chipped with B16 program.
