'97 Civic or '94 Accord?
Alright, I'm shopping for a new Honda, and a total newbie to this forum. My '91 Accord LX has run its course, with over 250k miles on it, I'm not putting money in it any longer.
The two cars I'm looking at are as follows, I'm wondering if any of you have any advice on which is the better deal and which is going to cost more to get in shape. I had both looked at by my mechanic, but he didn't really lean one way or the other. Whichever car I get I want to keep for abount 2-3 years until I can purchase something new. Thanks in advance!!
'94 Accord LX - 4-Door, Black, w/ 91k miles. Broken side view mirror, small dent in rear passenger door. Possible CV joint/s needs replacement (it's making a loud hum/noise when I hold the gas steady around 30-35 mph). Needs brakes and rotors. Small paint chips on back end and front bumper. Perfect interior. $4000.
'97 Civic EX - 4-Door, White, w/ 102k miles. Miscellaneous fuel-injection problem (RPMs bounce up and down while in park), P301 and P303 misfire codes, needs brakes and rotors. Exterior paint is overall very dull & chipped. Sunroof & CD player. Perfect interior. $4000.
The shop I'd buy them from has offered to replace the brakes and rotors on either before I buy. The rest is up to me. Soooo...yeah I'm torn between the two.

Re: '97 Civic or '94 Accord? (CillaLehua)
Yeah but try finding a car in the $3000-4000 that's 10 years old without minor problems. I mean aren't these minor?? That's what I'm wondering. I've been car shopping for about 4 weeks and every Honda with 100k miles or less has been $5000 or more...with or without problems.

I got my 95 DX with no problems for $3200. I coulda got a 95 EX for $4000. DX had 103k and EX had 105k. I got cheap in the end though. Look around more. You would be suprised how cheap you can get quality cars if you find the right sellers.
