I am new to this page and to the sport compact world and I need some help. I am looking at buying a '96 Honda Civic EX 2 door coupe. The only thing that is holding me back is that there are so many out there. I was just wondering what I could do to it to make it look different than all of the othere Civics out there? I dont want to pay big money to make it look different. Any help would be nice thank you.

pick up a Bentley Arnage instead of saving to buy a house instead......then you would be different as not many own that vehicle. haha

Civics are a dime a dozen, do however you please to it.

You'll come to find quickly that people don't take kindly to body kits, big spoilers, stunna rims, and that kind of ricer stuff on this site. But like I said before, if that's what you want to spend your money on, then so be it.

Typically there are 2 outcomes to trying to look different:
1) You spent $25,000 and have a unique hot ride that is all your own.
2) You do something original, but it's all silly things that no one else would do anyways. You are unique, but get laughed at everywhere you go.

So, forget being totally original in a Civic, it's all pretty much been done. Do what you think looks good and what fits your budget. There's lots of ways to go with it.

ya i really don't think its possible to make a unique civic unless you soend mad $$.....and then you should have spent all that cash on a much better car

Next should I buy it it has 150,000 miles on it. Its got intake, exhaust, short throw, and rims also a few other things done to it.

What's the price? I'd say a 96 EX with that milage isn't worth more than $4,000

what ever you want to do to a civic it has already been done, so if you do get a civic... just put the parts you want to on it. You cant be original with a civic

save your money. Buy a daily driver, don't do anything to it, when you have enough cash saved up buy an engine swap, then buy a cheap shell to put it in.

If you want to be the one who chooses the parts and the direction you want to take it, start with the best bone stock one you can find. Otherwise the car will be identified with the previous owner and his tastes, not yours. Unless you do like the stuff that's on it then it's all good. Or maybe sell the stuff to raise money for different mods.

i wouldnt pay that much for it regardless of what kelley's blue book is.. you can find a 96 with alot lower mileage than that for around 4

wow 5000 what a rip! talk him down or find another civic for cheaper and do what mods you want to do. i'm pretty sure there are many archived threads for these type of question, i suggest you search there and see what else people have said about these simple questions!

I payed $2500 for my 96 civic EX 2 door with 114,000 miles. Unless this car is mint to begin with, Id get him down to 5 or 4500
