First off let me say, i am not new to this and i searched all day yesterday to find an answer... with no luck!
With that said, here is the problem i am having.

-Car will not start; have spark, have fuel, mechanical timing is correct, firing order correct... car backfires during crank-over as if the ignition timing is off.

-i think the problem is in the dizzy, however, the internals were fine a week ago before the swap.... its a 96 civic with a basic b18 swap... DIZZY WAS OBD1, SO I SWAPPED INTERNALS FROM THE D16 TO THE B18 DIZZY TO AVOID CUTTING AND SPLICING WIRING!!! could this be my problem? will the d16 dizzy internals not swap with the b18? I have done this before with no issues...

-Gonna swap everything back today and try to troubleshoot the issue... any help or advice due to experiencing the same issue appreciated

Cylinder compressions?

CEL codes?

Is spark at the plugs bright white, or weak orange or deep blue?

Are the injectors spraying fuel?

Are the injector clips in the correct firing order?

Can you post pictures of the cams and crank at TDC1?

Well, i kind of had the same issue like yours. while starting up i kind of stepped on the gas pedal and BAM she started and then died again after letting off the gas.

Try giving it some gas hope that helps.
