Default 96 Civic/GSR swap - Are pre- and post-cat O2 sensors the same?

I have a 96 Civic with a GSR swap. I'm going to be replacing the o2 sensors. I've been doing some research and i'm a bit confused. Some sites say that you can use two of same o2 sensors for pre-cat and post-cat. Other sites say that they are different.
Can i buy 2 of the same O2 Sensors or do i have to buy two different O2 Sensors(pre-cat and post-cat)?

there is a reason why both pre and post cat sensors are dif looking/price/part #s.

i jus put in a secondary for a guy on accident for a primary....still got the primary o2 CEL/ crome has 2nd o2 disabled.

They are both the same type of oxygen in sense of how they function, narrowband. They only differ because of wire length and connector type.

Rick, I don't understand what you are saying that crome has 2nd o2 disable? Crome is obd1, therefore there isn't a second o2 sensor. Crome can only disable the primary o2 sensor and is the only o2 sensor in obd1 ecus.

96 civic with swap..obd1 conversion. it basiclay jus disables the CEL for it.
the 2nd o2 sensor is only a heater sensor. if the cat gets over heated or back up it will throw a CEL.,

Well the OP is obd2 because he asking about pre-cat and post-cat o2 sensors. Well instead of saying disable, obd1 eliminates the secondary o2 sensor.

No, this is not correct. It's an O2 sensor with a heater element.
