96 civic ex power steering to manual steering rack.

96 civic ex power steering to manual steering rack.
so basically from what i gather all i need is the manual rack from like a dx and then this steering column knuckle, part number 53323-sm-013 correct? the subframe is the same for the 96-00 correct? i dont want to do the looping of all the lines etc i just want to be done with it all and swap it out. can anyone chime in?

Yes I did. I saw the power steering to manual looping sticky. I don't want to do that. I want to completely replace it. Did I miss the link? I'll look again.

am i missing it or something? i see one thread 19 pages thats about looping the lines. not a complete swap.

It's really simple for this one man, remove all the p/s components, installed the manual rack, you're done.. No looping, rerouting, etc, just take off the belt, pulley, reservoir, etc, install the manual rack, you're done..

i did this on my em1 last year. you need the manual rack, the little plastic spacer thing that goes between the rack and the firewall, and the u joint that connects the column to the rack. it can be from an ek manual rack, or i belive and eg ex model one as well. basically it needs one larger diameter and one smaller diameter splines, instead of both the larger diameter like the ek ps joint has.
ps, getting the rack out around the subframe on the ek is a bit annoying. if you take the tie rod ends off it makes it much easier
