96 Civic DX - Can't get the dome light working for the life of me
Ok so I've gone to hell and back (not really) to get my dome light working. Replaced the housing, replaced the bulb, tried everything.
There are 2 wires, a green/red and a white/red. When the dome light is set to "on" they both read about .55 volts. So I imagine that the wires and housing are working correctly.
I know that your dome light can mess up if you install an aftermarket radio but I'm fairly certain thats only for the "door" option, not for the "on."
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In your first post, you MUST provide all pertinent information about your car and engine.

If an aftermarket radio has been installed and the factory radio was completely removed, you wont have a dome light. There are three connectors for the factory radio. One for the radio, one for the security, and the other is for the dome light and possibly other accessories. Not entirely sure. But I have tested this as I still have the factory radio, behind the dash.

Even if it was the case with mine, how can there still be voltage coming through the wires?

Only Civics with the keyless feature would be affected by swapping out the stock radio. The DX does not have keyless.
The Wht/Red wire at the dome light should read battery voltage (~12V) with the dome light off. What is the "off" voltage?
Also measure voltage to body ground at both top test tabs of 7.5A hood fuse 43. Click the Fuses link in my signature. Post the two voltage readings at each tab.

Wow I feel like such an idiot haha... I didn't even know there was a fuse for it. I checked under the dash but didn't find one. That seems weird it would be under the hood. But I changed the fuse and it works thanks
