96' Civic Cupholders, Type R?
I have a USDM 1996 Civic DX Hatchback with the awful cup holder cover that's broken. I stumbled across this EK9 Type R cupholder without the cover and I was wondering if they were interchangeable. Thanks guys!

The best cup holder was the one with a flip up cover. My red hx has the shallow ones where one hole is bigger than rhe other and it has tons of stains on the carpet and I've personally had a taco bell cup fall over.
So get the cup holder with the cover
So get the cup holder with the cover

Sorry for the late reply but I wanted to stay away from the ones with the flip up top lol Might as well install an open one while I'm at removing the old one + black carpet lol

Flip top ones are the best, the others are either too wide too shallow or both.
To answer your question yes it will work. Probably won't hold drinks very well though
Another reason, you can hide your head unit and use the remote. This is how I had my civic hx setup, kept the factory head unit because on 96-98 cars it's the antenna for keyless entry
