96-98 ek jdm ashtray ciggarette lighter install
I bought the jdm ek ashtray/ciggarette lighter it's out if a right hand drive ctr so it needs modifacation has anyone done this before?

no it doesnt, i guess i thought the same thing until i went to put it on...someones website states it needs "PROFESSIONAL MODDING/INSTALL SINCE ITS FROM A RHD VEHCILE"
Anyone have one installed ????????

in 5gen there isnt even a difference, it only countours to the side a minimal bit, being lhd or rhd. in other works its only the bezel itself thats different... hope this helps.

yes i tried it and its longer on the left side which woulda went to the glove box bolts but now it goes to the right of the steering column instead...im sure SOMEONE has one in a lhd vehicle on here and knows how to mod it...
and YES a ASHTRAY.. regardless if its jdm usdm edm or ukdm, i like it and it gives it more of a cockpit feel to your already plain hatch

I've seen them in lhd ek's before though. The ones from rhd cars too. I know someone knows how to do it they're just not reading this thread lol.

If you coulda gotten a USDM one, that fits perfectly into your car, why did you get a JDM one that requires you to modify it to fit?

that's what I'm saying, unless the JDM civics has something USDM ones don't , I see no point in getting the JDM version, like your center console, JDM or USDM it'll do the same thing, your just paying more for the JDM ver.
